Things to do in Murphy, NC

Murphy and Marble North Carolina are located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, and there are many family oriented activities in the surrounding area. Areas to Hike
Panther Top: This is a 2.3 mile out and back trail near Murphy, NC that offers exceptional views. It’s a moderately challenging route and takes an average of 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete. It’s popular for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Dogs are welcome and there are areas where they can be unleashed.
Murphy River Walk: This is a 3.4 mile loop trail and is considered an easy challenge. It takes an average of 1 hour to complete the loop. It’s very popular for birding, fishing, and hiking which means you’ll likely encounter others on the trail. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
Piney Knob Trails: There are 22 miles of recreational hiking areas within Piney Knob Trails, and the trails range in terms of complexity. These trails are conveniently located just outside of the town of Murphy across from the Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino.
